Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about CONNECT2013

1. What are the room rates?
The Barceló is an all-inclusive resort, and thus all you pay for is the room. Rates are as follows:

Single  (one person per room): $120 per person
Double (two people per room): $100 per person
Triple   (three people per room): $75 per person
Quad   (four people or more per room): $70 per person
Child   (age 6 - 12): $32 per child
Child   (age 0 - 6): FREE

Example: If your family of five has three children (one child is 14, one is 10 and one is 4), you would select the Quad room; and each adult and the child of 14 would pay $70, the child of 10 would pay $32 and the child of 4 would be free.

2. Can I register without my travel information?
Yes. We understand that it is too early to make reservations, so please register without including the travel information. 

3. When will my travel information be due?
We know that it is too early to provide the travel information. A separate email will be sent requesting the travel information.  However, please note that ALL TRAVEL INFORMATION is DUE by SEPTEMER 24, 2012. 

4. Who is considered family?
Family is considered parents, siblings, spouse and children.

5. How will I know what my personal expenses are?
An e-mail outlining each individual’s personal expenses and due date will be sent after registration is closed.

6. What will spouse allowance cover?
CONNECT2013 Spouse Allowance Policy is as follows:

  1. For Outside of North America.
    1. For all staff with a travel budget.
    2. Administrative Personnel are not covered; spouses would be a personal expense.
    3. To be eligible, no spouse travel should be reported for any trip during 2012 and 2013, except CONNECT2013.
      1. For TAM and TAP who are having area meetings in January/February 2012, if tickets have already been purchased for the spouse as of December 12, 2011, then it is at the discretion of the Associate Director to apply the two year span of 2013 and 2014 as no spouse allowance to be reported.
      2. This should be monitored by the Area Associates.
    4. Cost of airfare and room will be covered for spouse only.
      1. Coordinate with Area Associate regarding the purchase of tickets for auditor and eligible spouse.
      2. Cost for airfare and room will be charged to area travel budget.
    5. Children are not covered. This would be personal expense.
  2. Within North America 
      Please contact your Area Associate to get the details of eligibility and coverage of spouse allowance as it relates to Connect2013.

      7. I'm Support Staff. Are my family’s expenses covered?

      GCAS will cover the cost for all support staff; attending family would be a personal expense.

      8. What expenses are covered for Guests?
      All expenses for the invited guests and their families are a personal expense.

      9. I am a GCAS Board Member, what are my personal expenses?
      GCAS will cover the cost for the board member; attending family would be a personal expense.

Personal expenses must be arranged prior to January 9, 2013. Please contact Linda Fredlund at FredlundL(at)gcasconnect.org. Personal Expenses are any expense not covered by GCAS travel and/or spousal travel.
